Social Injustice
Social Injustice Cell's goal is to educate ourselves on various social
issues that impact us in Kitchener-Waterloo, and on a global scale.
Through bi-weekly discussion on issues such as drugs, alcoholism, teen
pregnancies, and poverty, we try to look at the world from a social
perspective, and hopefully expand our ways of thinking. Through weekly
volunteering at Oasis Drop-In Centre, we'll learn about these issues not
just from a removed distance, but through one-on-one interactions with
less well-off in downtown Kitchener, while serving them food and
building relationships with them. With these activities, we hope that we
can broaden our perspectives, and learn about ourselves while serving
others.

Rock Solid
Wednesday nights
Do you want to tell your friends about Jesus but always chicken out? Are there things about God, the Bible, your faith, philosophy, and science that, when you really think about them, bother you and preclude you from sharing your faith with others? Do you wrestle over issues with God?
Rock Solid is an open-membership cell group that will challenge you to think about the issues that you always ignore, or go beyond the surface with issues you take for granted. Why stir the pot? The purpose of Rock Solid is to form your own opinions on controversial issues based on Biblical support, get information about those "tough questions", learn about the ministry of Jesus, and pray like crazy!
The format of Rock Solid will be weekly meetings, with every second week being a "learning week" and the other weeks in between specifically for prayer. Rock Solid will investigate topics such as reconciling the God of the Old Testament with the God of the New Testament, evil, evolution, and more, while committing our whole selves as Christ's messangers and ambassadors in prayer. Topics will be explored in the form of Bible study, debates, group discussions, and role playing.
If you're up for a challenge to go beyond the issues, build up your apologetics knowledge base, and walk hand in hand with the Holy Spirit, come check out Rock Solid. Topics will be posted/announced prior to each "learning" session to those who are unable to make a term committment. Time and date to be determined (likely to be on a Tuesday evening, but this is negotiable).

Alpha
Thursdays 18:00-21:00
Alpha is a course geared towards people wanting to learn more about Christianity. It welcomes seekers, New Christians, and believers who want to brush up on the basics of Christianity.
The Alpha group will provide a great environment whereby anyone can discuss topics relating to Christianity and ask any question about Christianity - as the cliché goes, there are no stupid questions, nor hostile ones, either.
There are 3 basic parts to Alpha: dinner, talk, and discussion. There will be meal provided at the start of each gathering. A video talk given by Nicky Gumbel will follow, and the night will end in a discussion of the topic in the video. Talks centre on various topics related to the Christian faith.
Join Alpha and discover what Christianity is all about... and make a group of new friends along the way.
If you have any questions about Alpha, please feel free to e-mail Victoria. We are also currently looking for leaders and helpers, so please drop me a line if you are interested!

Worship Cell
Wednesdays 19:30-22:00
Worship has often been misinterpreted as being the music one hears while in church or fellowship. Worship through music is merely the easiest form of worship to see. As a love song sung for another speaks of the devotion and dedication, the words of love that are sung mean nothing if they are not expressed through action as well. The worship cell group will be focusing beyond musical worship. We will sing love songs to our God but as well be learning about how we can show and prove this love by living each and every day in devotion to our maker in other ways so that worship will become a way of life.
'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" Mark 12:30 NIV.'

Purpose Driven Life (PDL) Cell
“What on earth am I here for?”
“What is the purpose of my life?”
These are questions many of us have pondered at one point or time. Life’s most basic questions are the most difficult to grasp because we often use ourselves as starting point and ask self-seeking questions that involves our fulfillment and our happiness. However, since we are not the creator of ourselves we cannot find our purpose by looking within us.
With the aid of “The Purpose Driven Life,” written by Pastor Rick Warren, we hope to discover God’s plan and purpose for our lives.
Throughout our passage we will discover God’s five purposes for each one of us:
Purpose #1: You Were Planned for God’s Pleasure
Purpose #2: You Were Formed for God’s Family
Purpose #3: You Were Created to Become Like Christ
Purpose #4: You Were Shaped for Serving God
Purpose #5: You Were Made for a Mission
We meet weekly for discussions and will be blogging /journaling daily, throughout our 40 days. This will provide encouragement, support and a means for us to share our thoughts and experiences. After 40 days we hope you'll experience satisfaction, peace of mind, and find the right direction in life; God’s direction.
